Embark on a 6 days , 5 nights Morocco tour from Marrakech , starting in Marrakech and ending in Fes! We’ll climb the magnificent High Atlas Mountains, gaze at the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass, and explore ancient Kasbahs like Ait-Ben-Haddou and Ouarzazate . Then, immerse yourself in the Dades Valley, gaze at the towering Todra Gorges, and go camel trekking through the magical Sahara Desert of Merzouga . Watch stunning sunrises and sunsets among golden dunes, spend a night in a cozy desert camp, and explore further in a 4×4. We’ll haggle in the bustling market of Rissani , discover fossils in Erfoud, and wander through Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco,” marveling at the cedar forest where playful Barbary macaques play. Finally, immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Fez , one of Morocco’s imperial cities. It’s an adventure you won’t forget!
We will pick you up early from your accommodation. Then, we will embark on a pleasant drive through the stunning High Atlas Mountains and a place called Tizi-N-Tichka Pass. We will make a few stops so you can enjoy amazing views. Afterwards, we will visit a famous place called the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. It is an ancient kasbah registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many movies have been filmed there, such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Afterwards, we will go to a desert gate called Ouarzazate. You will have free time for lunch. After lunch, we will visit the Valley of Roses and a large area of palm trees called Skoura. Finally, we will head to a place called Boumalne Dades, where we will spend the night. It will be a fun day with many interesting views!
After breakfast, we will set off through the Dades Valley. We will stop at a stunning location overlooking the valley, so you can enjoy the amazing scenery of the Dades Gorges. Then, we will continue to the Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has created a huge canyon in the mountains, forming high red cliffs. You will be able to walk through the gorges and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We will also pass by palm plantations in Touroug and Tinjdad, and you will have free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we will reach the Sahara Desert in Merzouga. Here, you will ride camels and ride through the sandy desert. We will stop so you can watch the sun setting over a high sand dune – it’s like magic! After that, we will head to a luxury desert camp. You will be able to listen to Berber drum music, dance around a bonfire, and gaze at the stars in the open sky. Dinner and a comfortable night’s rest will be at the camp. It will be a unique and amazing experience!
Start your day by setting an early alarm, giving you the chance to witness a stunning and magnificent sunrise. After breakfast, we head to Rissani, the historical foundation of the current ruling family. It is still an important place for trade and has a large market that is busy on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Next, we visit a workshop where they make things out of fossilized marble in Erfoud. Then, we drive alongside the Ziz River and stop to get a panoramic view of this valley. The trip continues, passing through the cedar forest, where monkeys called Barbary macaques live. You can feed them and walk through the forest, then stop in Ifrane, a special town because it is very cold and snowy and has houses that look like those in the mountains of Switzerland. Afterwards, we drive to Fez, where we spend the night in your riad.
After breakfast in your riad, you will discover the city of Fes with our friendly guide. Fes is a really important city in Morocco for its culture and religion, and it is one of the great cities of yesteryear. First thing in the morning, we start at the gate of the Royal Palace. Then, we will explore the very old part of the city, called the Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your local guide will show you around. We will start at the Blue Gate, called Bab Boujloud, and then we will wander through a bunch of small streets. We will see interesting places like the tanneries, the Najjarine Fountain, and the Medrasa Bouanania. And don’t forget the Quaraouin mosque and university, which is the oldest university in history! After that, we will leave the Medina and visit the Jewish quarter, also called “the Mellah”. In the afternoon, we will drive to an old fortress to get a breathtaking view of the city. Finally, we will return to your riad.
