4-day Morocco itineraries and tours
A 4-day Morocco itinerary is the sweet spot for the desert: enough for two nights in the Merzouga dunes, or for one night and a different road back, without retracing your route. All are private tours with a vehicle and an English-speaking driver just for your group, from Marrakech, Fes and Ouarzazate.
Below we compare the four, explain what you see on each and what the price depends on.
Our 4-day Morocco tours
Four routes, depending on where you start and where you want to finish:
- Marrakech to Fes: Ait Ben Haddou, the Dades, the Todra, two nights in the desert with a full day in the Sahara by 4x4, and on to Fes through the Ziz Valley.
- Marrakech round trip: a night in the Dades, a night in the Merzouga dunes and the return via Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Haddou and Telouet, with a night in Ouarzazate.
- Fes to Marrakech: two nights in the Sahara with the 4x4 day, then the road of the kasbahs through the Todra, the Dades and Ait Ben Haddou.
- Ouarzazate to Marrakech: Ait Ben Haddou, the Dades, two nights in the Sahara and the Draa Valley to Marrakech.

What you can see in 4 days
The difference from 3 days is the fourth day, which is used in one of two ways:
- A second night in the desert: a full day by 4x4 around Merzouga, with nomad families, Khamlia and the Mfis mines, with no packing and no driving between cities.
- A different road back: from Marrakech, returning via Ouarzazate and its film studios, Ait Ben Haddou and the Telouet kasbah instead of retracing the route.
All four cross the Atlas or the Middle Atlas, sleep by the dunes and pass through at least one of the gorges, the Dades or the Todra.
With one day less, or more days
If you only have three, see the 3-day tours: one night in the desert, round trip or city to city. With more time, the 6-day tour from Marrakech to Fes adds Fes with a local guide, and the 7-day tours add the imperial cities or the north.
How much does a 4-day Morocco tour cost?
We don’t publish a fixed rate because every private trip is different. The price of a 4-day tour depends on:
- How many of you travel: the vehicle and driver are for your whole group, so the more travellers, the less it costs per person.
- The accommodation you choose in the cities and in the desert.
- The time of year.
- Changes to the route: an extra night, an activity on the dunes or ending in another city.

WhatsAppWhich is the best 4-day tour of Morocco?
It depends on where you start and finish. If you fly into Marrakech and leave from Marrakech, the round trip via Ouarzazate doesn’t repeat any road. If you also want to see Fes, Marrakech to Fes or Fes to Marrakech spend two nights in the desert and cross the country.
Is there a 4-day tour from Casablanca or Tangier?
No: from those cities the desert is more than ten hours’ drive away, and the shortest tours are 8 days from Casablanca and 7 days from Tangier.
How many nights do you sleep in the desert?
Two on the Marrakech to Fes, Fes to Marrakech and Ouarzazate tours; one on the Marrakech round trip, which spends its last night in Ouarzazate. For a tent with a private bathroom, ask about Tassili Luxury Desert Camp.
What does a 4-day tour include?
The private trip in an air-conditioned 4x4 or van with an English-speaking driver and pick-up at your accommodation; the nights in hotels or riads and at the desert camp; the camel ride and, on the tours with two desert nights, the 4x4 day in the Sahara. Lunches and drinks are not included.
